About BBA Tourism & Travel

The Bachelor in Business Administration in Tourism & Travel offers an undergraduate program in management with a specialisation in Tourism and Travel that was started in 2024. The program is designed to educate the students to adapt to the demands and challenges faced in the tourism and travel Industry.The program focuses on understanding the global tourism industry, destination management, and tourism marketing and also learning about the logistics of travel bookings, various tours and travel agencies. Through internship opportunities with National Tourism Organisations,

State Tourism Boards,Destination Management Companies, the students get an overview and knowledge of the travel and tourism industry in its functional and operational areas.Besides this, the students can get to participate in various guest talks, seminars and panel discussions, Travel Trade Exhibitions in India and overseas.The courses will be handled by highly qualified academicians specialized in modern teaching pedagogical methods and traditional lecture-based training,seminars, group presentations, field trips, and more. Our BBA program in tourism and travel management aims to give students a thorough understanding of the tourism sectors. Emphasizing both practical skills and academic understanding. Our curriculum equips students for fulfilling jobs in this fast-paced industry.

The Department of Management at PES Institute of Advanced Management Studies (PESIAMS) affiliated to Kuvempu University, Shivamogga was started in 2008-09 with 68 students and increased to more than 233 students. The Department focuses on providing excellent teaching to prepare students to be academically strong as well as employable. The institution is committed to providing high-quality education and mentoring students interested in research. The Department of Management offers undergraduate programs, focusing on interdisciplinary learning, industry partnerships, and holistic development.

The Department of Business Management aims to create a stimulating and challenging atmosphere for students to hone their management skills to become dynamic leaders in the business world. The Department highlights enhancing skills through learning sessions from the classroom exercises, Field/ Industrial visits to equip students with the necessary skills of business management and expose students to practical learning experiences.

The Department of Management organized a field trip to Shivamogga Airport for the II Semester BBA (Tourism & Travel) students on 29-07-2024 During the visit, the students observed and learned about several key aspects of the airport. Mr. Ganesh Babu Kokku, the Terminal Safety Manager at Shivamogga Airport, provided valuable insights into the airport’s operations and aviation, offering students a practical learning experience related to the field. Also he provided information about Directorate General of Civil Aviation, ICAO, and passenger services like check-in, boarding, and disembarking procedures.

On account of World Heritage Day, Department of Management organized “Field Trip” for the students of BBA (T &T), PESIAMS on 18-04-2024 and 19-04-2024 to Ikkeri, Keladi, Amulya Shodha Museum and Shivappa Nayaka PalaceOn 18-04-2024 the students visited Ikkeri and studied about Ikkeri temple and its Architecture then they visited Keladi Rameshwara Temple. where they were guided by Mr.Alokkumar. He delegation lot of information on historical background about the temple and its Archeological significance. Then they moved to Keladi Museum.The students at last moved to Shivappa Nayaka palace.The guide provided information about the destination and resource persons further suggested the students to preserve cultural heritage and old things to future generation, The Field trip was very informative and the students actively participated
