Raghavendra B Y, now serving his fourth term as Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), is a visionary leader of Shivamogga, known for his commitment to good governance and development and has garnered widespread support across the state. His leadership skills began early as the senate member of Kuvempu University. He wears multiple hats and is an educationist, an agriculturist, politician, businessman, and is one of the major employers for the Malnad region. Under his leadership, Shivamogga gained its own airport, including the Shivamogga-Talaguppa broad gauge, and Shivamogga-Shikaripura-Ranebennur railway projects. His efforts span education, telecom, healthcare, and sports, driving holistic regional development.
